Transform your digital piano or synthesizer into an arranger keyboard with real-time auto-accompaniment capability. Alternatively, unleash your creativity while on the move by using your iOS device as a stand-alone real-time arranger.

Link your iPad, iPhone, or iPod to your keyboard instrument using the camera connection kit along with a USB AB cable or a MIDI interface cable, depending on your keyboard's MIDI requirements. Launch One Man Band, access the Settings button, and designate the MIDI In and MIDI Out ports to your keyboard before confirming. Proceed to the red Presets button and select a preferred style and voice combination.

Initiate accompaniment by playing chords on the left side of your keyboard, as the melody on the right side will adopt harmonies and instrument layers based on the selected voice. Experiment with different style variations (Main, Fill, Intro, Ending) while performing, and effortlessly switch between accompaniment styles and melody voices using the top buttons. Activate the Record function to create MIDI files.

If you don't have a keyboard instrument readily available or cannot establish a connection at the moment, leverage the options to use your iPad/iPhone/iPod as a self-sufficient accompaniment instrument. Opt for the soundfont player within Settings/Ports/MidiOut and utilize the virtual keyboard for chord and melody playing.

The customizable panel featuring 56 buttons allows you to assign functions, voices, presets, chords, or notes to each button (excluding the top-left one) and generate submenus containing an additional 56 buttons each. Craft unique voices enriched with harmonies and instrument layering.

One Man Band Lite grants access to 10 unrestricted playing styles. The application supports standard style files compatible with Yamaha PSR, DGX, and Tyros arranger keyboards, with a vast collection of styles accessible online. By transferring a zip file containing styles to OMB (via download, email, iCloud), these styles will be organized in a dedicated folder mirroring the zip file name. While 10 included styles can be played limitlessly in the Lite version, other styles will pause after 60 seconds of playtime for 15 seconds; upon resumption can be triggered by playing a chord. For full access to all styles, consider upgrading to One Man Band Live, also accessible through the App Store.
